We had the pleasure of once again working with our old friend Murray McLauchlin. The 11 time Juno winner was back in town recently where he entertained a full house with many local movie and music celebrities present. Last time we worked with Murray was about a year earlier when he was in town with Lunch at Allens (Ian Thomas, Cindy Church, Marc Jordan and Murray). That one was another great show.
True story. I’m playing with a bar band in Port Dover one weekend. The owner/manager wants us to take an extended break on the Friday night because a former local musician and his band is performing on the David Letterman Show. All the TV’s in the place are tuned to CBS, Fred comes on and plays his song, the place goes wild. It was an inspiring performance and I hoped to work with him one day.
Fast forward to this spring and I get a tech rider for Fred Eaglesmith and the Travelling Steam Show booked to play the Masonic. Awesome show, and GREAT people to work with.
Stratford Live presented Ladies Of The Canyon and enlisted our services to supplement the house system at the Masonic. The Ladies required 6 separate monitor mixes and more inputs then was available on the existing installed rig. Exeter Music supplied monitors, mic kit, and digital console and tied that into the halls “front of house” speaker system. The Ladies FOH tech Nathan had his hands full with 6 mixes but had a great FOH mix happening. The Ladies put on a great show.
EMC had the privilege of mixing this great up and coming band The Heartbroken when they were in with Ladies Of The Canyon. Super bunch of people with great musical chops. Their video’s are played regularly on CMT and they were nominated for Best Group at this year’s CCMA Awards. Hope to work with you again soon.
We had the pleasure of working with three time Juno Award winner David Francey earlier this spring continuing with Stratford Live’s “Live at City Hall” concert series. David and his band made Stratford their last stop of a US tour before going home to rest up for the Juno’s, where he was nominated for his 5th award. Nice guys and great musicians.
We kicked off the new year by teching the Valdy show at the Masonic in Stratford. Valdy is a living Canadian folk legend and recent recipient of the Order Of Canada…and a real nice guy too. He played a mix of some of his older hits as well as introducing some new material. It was a great evening for an enthuiastic crowd.
We were pleased to provide production services to Canadian blues guitar sensation Matt Andersen. Matt made Knox Church in Stratford the last stop of his x-country tour before heading home to NS. Worth checking out if he comes to your area.
For this show we provided a ground stacked 3 unit line array over double 18″ subwoofer per side. The system was a perfect fit for this show. Matt’s FOH engineer Steve commented on the clarity of the rig.
Exeter Music supplied audio and lighting for Serena Ryder and the Beauties on their recent stop in the area. We deployed a 6 unit per side line array with double 18″ subs controlled with an LS9 digital console.
Great show with a great artist and crew. It was good to see our old friend Adrian pulling double duty as monitor tech and guitar tech on this tour.
The Rotary Club of Stratford chose Exeter Music as it’s sole audio provider for the Annual Dragon Boat Festival. A combination of distributed audio systems as well as conventional active and passive loudspeakers were used to line the race route and team tent areas. Our compact line array system was deployed for the main stage entertainment. Lots of positive comments regarding the sound quality and even coverage.
The South Huron Hospital Foundation’s second annual gala fundraiser at South Huron Rec Centre was the hottest ticket in town. More than $65,000 was raised to go towards new hospital equipment.
After hors-d’oeuvres, cocktails, wine tasting and dinner, the comedy duo Bowser and Blue entertained the sold out crowd.
We deployed a 3 hang line array controlled by a Yamaha LS9 digital console for this event. It was the perfect system for this function due to it’s high quality sound, discrete appearance, and the added bonus of being controlled wirelessly via ipad.
